Srinagar, July 22: In order to ameliorate the needs of families in Srinagar city who are unable to host their wedding or other ceremonies due to lack of space, the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) has planned to build four more community halls on modern lines in the city, an official said on Friday.

An SDA department official told Rising Kashmir that given the growing needs of families in the city of Srinagar to host weddings or other ceremonies, SDA has proposed to build four more community halls in the city.

“We already have community halls in Boatman Colony Bemina, Rajouri Kadal, Gonikhan and another space in Bemina. The rooms are currently operational and used by the general public for weddings or other ceremonies. We are adding four more community halls at Noorbagh, Bemina, Batamaloo and Chatabal in Srinagar,” an official said.

The official said that the department continues to upgrade the existing community halls as per the requirements, however, he added that the four new upcoming community halls will be on modern lines with the latest technology and in accordance with the master plan proposed by the SDA. department with maximum facilities for those who benefit from it.

The official added that the existing community halls have halls on each floor, toilets for ladies and gents, green rooms, a chef’s shed (Waza) for cooking and a separate space for parking.
