2022 primary election
The 2022 primary election will take place on May 17, and there are several important things voters need to know – from the deadline to register, to when and where to vote, to who will be on the ballot.

Ways to vote for the primary election
- Early in-person absentee voting ahead of Election Day May 12-14
- In person on Election Day May 17, 2022.
- Mail-in ballot (return by mail or drop box)
Other key information
- If you intend to vote in person, do not request a mail-in ballot.
- Check your voter registration and mail-in voting status here. To register online to vote, click here or visit Room 107 of the Daviess County Courthouse (212 St. Ann Street) to fill out a paper form. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- To request a mail-in ballot for the primary election, visit the state portal at GoVoteKY.com and select “Request Mail-In Ballot” or visit Room 107 of the Daviess County Courthouse.

Absentee Voting
- Paper-based ballots are available for voters who are:
- Unable to go to the polls due to age, disability or illness
- A student who temporarily resides outside the county
- A voter who temporarily resides out of state
- A person incarcerated in prison (not convicted of a crime)
- A person whose place of employment requires him to be absent from the county every hour and every day when absentee voting by machine is conducted
- Military personnel confined to a military base on election day and early voting
- How to request your absentee ballot
- Visit the state portal at GoVoteKY.com and select “Request Vote by Mail” or visit Room 107 of the Daviess County Courthouse.
- If you don’t have internet access and can’t get to the courthouse, call the Daviess County Elections Department at 270-240-5771.
- Absentee Voting
- April 4-6: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- April 9-11: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Anyone facing a medical emergency occurring from May 3 to 17 is eligible to receive a paper medical emergency ballot. Spouses are also eligible. For details, call the clerk’s office at 270-240-5771.
- When completing a paper mail-in ballot, be sure to sign the inside AND outer envelopes, where your vote will be DO NOT To be counted. (This is how your identity will be verified.)
- All ballots must be returned by mail or deposited in one of the drop boxes located at:
- Daviess County Courthouse (212 St. Ann Street) April 4-May 17
- Daviess County Public Library (2020 Frederica Street) April 4-May 16
- Deadline for returning ballots
- All ballots returned by mail or drop box must be received by May 17 at 6 p.m.
